Malavika’s journey in media began 7 years ago . She began
as a journalist for the Hindu, and very soon left print
behind for Radio. What began as a few radio jingles and
voiceovers here and there became a full time profession 4
years ago when she began hosting the 9-12 midnight slot
on
Radio City Bangalore with one of the highest rated
radio shows at the time – ‘Pink Noise’.
A year later, she moved to
Radio Indigo
to host the Breakfast show from 7 – 11 am called ‘Indigo
Rising’. 2008 saw her move to Dubai to the world’s biggest
Bollywood Radio station, a pioneer in its market and a
record breaking company –
City 1016.
She now hosts the Breakfast show –
Breakfast No.1,
previously called ‘English Breakfast Desi Mem’ between 6
and 11 am. It has been rated Dubai’s most listened to
Breakfast show in the year 2009. |
At
the
Masala Lifestyle Awards 2009 she was voted the
U.A.E’s best Radio Jockey.
In addition to Radio she has also hosted events for the
Leela Kempinski, Airtel, Vodafone,
Infosys only to name a few. In Dubai she has hosted some
of the city’s biggest social do’s and has also hosted concerts
such as
Dreamz 2009
( The
Salman-Katrina-Prabhudeva
concert
) alongside Boman Irani and Mona Singh.
She has also hosted 3 extremely successful
Masters of the Mix
shows – that are now know in Dubai to be the most exclusive Desi party on the circuit with thousands of the city’s party
animals each time.
She has sung jingles for and has been the voice of brands like
Airtel, Spice, Vodafone, Scooty Pep
and
Kingfisher, only to
name a few. |
