It all began for Dj Chico a good 19 years ago when he was just a kid, messing around with some records. He knew then, as he knows now, that that was love at first sight! As a kid in the UK he had plenty of opportunities to hone his dj-ing talent, beginning at small private parties and getting bigger & better with every weekend.

In the years that followed he played with musicians and performers – big and small and fell in love with the art of making people dance. If its one thing he swears he can do it is getting anyone, or anything to move. For an entire year in the 90’s he played at Swigs, the former Earthquake in Mumbai and toured with Media companies like Channel V, partying with and playing for large crowds and TV stars.

When the time came for a challenge, he was all up to it, winning the famed ‘War of the Djs – 2000 & 2001’!




Dj Chico stopped at nothing there on, entertaining artists like Akon, Eddy Grant, Deep Purple, Enrique Iglesias, Bryan Adams, The Rolling Stones, & The Scorpions at their post show parties.

He has opened and closed for several performers and artists such as DJ Judge Jules (London), DJ Spencer (MOS), DJ Eddie Lock (London), DJ Ray Davis (London), Viva, Shaan, Remo Fernandes, Louis Banks, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Shivamani, Mansi Scott, Sunita Sarthi and Priscilla Corner amongst many others.

He even had the privilege of performing alongside Lionel Richie for Vijay Mallya’s 50th Birthday celebrations.




As for fashion, it’s his forte. He swears there is nothing as satisfying as seeing beautiful people sashaying down an aisle to his tunes. The Smirnoff International Fashion Awards 2001, the Kingfisher Derby Show, Rahul Dev Shetty, Lee, Wrangler, Sf Jeans Co, Reebok, Arvind Mills, Accenture, IBM, Intel, Goldman Sachs, Spice, Young Presidents Organization, GE, Airtel, Westside, Tanishq, Hemant Trevedi, Abraham & Thakur, Savio Jon, Namrata G, Prasad Bidapa, Nirmal & Sarita Mandhot, Anita Dongre and Shonali & Ishmail are just some of the names that swear by him!

Working basically as a free lance professional, Chico has worked extensively with the hotel industry with brands like the Leela, Taj, Oberoi and Sheraton groups of Hotels in Jaipur, Bombay, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi, The Bangalore Club, the KGA and Angasana.




Let’s put it this way – There is hardly any Indian city or club that has not been host to Dj Chico at some point in the last 19 years!

Earthquake, Enigma, Avalon, Rock Bottom and Velvet Lounge in Mumbai. Sparks, Treasure Island, Bottle and Chimney, F bar, 10 downing street, Liquid, Under deck, 6th element, Twister, Afterlife and Dublin in Hyderabad. 10 downing street , Chrome, Woltaire Club in Vizag. Titos, Zanzibar, Club Cabana, Blue, Loungefly, Paradiso in Goa. 10 downing street, Polaris and Sphinx in Pune. Tantra, Underground and Aqua in Calcutta. – That’s just naming a few, among many others in cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Manipal and Mangalore & many more.  

As for Bangalore, every club and every partygoer knows his name and screams it out loud when he plays!  Dj Chico has played at gigs at various clubs in Bangalore such as NYX, Athena, Zero G, Taika, ICE, Blue Bar, I Bar, Noir, Fusion Lounge, 1912, Sparks, Urban Edge, 180 Proof, I Bar, Mars 2211, Dublin Pub, Club X, Hipnos, Insomnia and Pebbles.




The Corporate’s love Dj Chico because there is nothing he does nt play and no one that can ignore him great tunes. From House to Electro to Minimal to Progressive to Tribal to Commercial to Desi to Punjabi to Regional Languages, he has it all and plays it all!

His Corporate clientele includes Bacardi, Channel V, MTV, Sony Music, DNA Networks, Whiz Craft, Smirnoff, Star TV Network, ‘360 Degrees’, Times Entertainment, World Presidents Organization, C.I.I, LG Soft, SAP, Showtime, Shotime Events, Eblitz, Scotch & Water Entertainments and Mega Bowl just to name a few.

Dj Chico has played several years for the Bangalore Times party, as well as the Femina Miss India Post Show parties.

Dj Chico also plays for the Bacardi blasts and Bacardi B Live, and has toured Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Calcutta and Delhi from 2003 to 2007 with them.




In the international arena, Dj Chico has had a stint in Paris to his credit. He has had the privilege to open for Bob Sinclair at the ‘Thanks God I’m A VIP’ party for top Paris designers. In the UK he has played at several underground pubs and clubs in London

Chico also launched 2 new radio stations for World Space in South Africa at the largest night club in Johannesburg ‘Taboo’ and For GE, he toured to Sri Lanka for their ‘Asia Pacific Meet’.

He is also a frequent visitor to several countries like South Africa, Oman, Bahrain, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia & the UK for private and club events.

 


Dubai is now his home and Chico has managed to create a fabulous reputation for being a Dj the crowd loves! He has played at venues like the Mixx (He was resident for Moksh nights) , Touch ( For the famed Desi Section 7 nights) , Keva, Lotus One and Chi where he plays regularly at the Gardens and the VIP Lounge. He also regularly plays for private parties in the homes of the rich and famous in the party capital of the Middle East.




Its not just his music, but also his voice that has now taken over the airwaves with an extremely popular, record breaking weekly Radio show on the channel City 1016 (Arabian Radio Network), called Masters of the Mix that plays out on Friday Nights between 10 and 12. It is Dubai’s only reality Radio show and is an on-air War of the Djs. Chico just sits back and watches, and of course plays great music and hosts the show , while young aspiring Djs fight for the title of the Master-Mixer.
